I love this story, Ms. Ashley. When I was a kid, we lived in a kind of area with lots of trees and, of course, squirrels. This story reminds me of a story about my neighbor, Ms. Agnes. She would feed the squirrels, and they would come and eat right out of her hands. We called the Squirrels Chi-Chi. Yes, I even wrote a kid's book on it years later about these squirrels, the Chi Chi's that lived in the trees and had all these fancy tools and phones and their community and how they would talk to each other. Anyway, I just love this story. Mother Nature is the best thing for all our souls. Well written.
